Week of August 18, 2014

Dear Parents and Guardians,
. Welcome! This is our first newsletter of the year. I am so excited to start this year and get to know your child and help them to learn and grow! It is going to be a great year! Here are a few notes and reminders that you will need to know for the week and the near future. Your child will need to read 20 minutes every night. After they read, they will need to get your initials on their assignment notebook in the reading space. It is a great idea to ask your child about what they have read in order to to improve their comprehension. You can also have them read to you or you can read with them once in a while. Also, if your child does not know all of their division and multiplication facts, please practice daily at home. It is essential that you sign your child’s assignment notebook daily in order to ensure all homework is complete , to be aware of upcoming tests and to check for any classroom/teacher notes. If you have any questions or concerns, please call, e-mail, or send in a note. Have a wonderful week!

Week of September 16, 2013

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week in school we will be finishing up Chapter 2 in Math, Adding and Subtracting Whole Numbers and Decimals. Our test will be on Monday. Please study Math Chapter One vocabulary as well. We will finish working on landforms in Geography; the Chapter One test is on Wednesday. Your child will need to start practicing their states and capitals. They will need to know the location, name of the state and the capital of the state. I will send home multiple resources to practice this skill.
